Applications
to suit your needs.
Craneshire is a small, independent studio that designs and builds native apps for iPhone, Apple Watch, Android and Wear OS. We develop custom applications that blend your vision with our ability.
Crane Course
Our first app is a golf companion for iPhone, Apple Watch and Android. It shows front, center and back yardages to the green from your device's own Global Positioning System, and keeps working offline once a course is downloaded.
- Phone and watch togetherThe watch uses its own location, so the phone can stay in the cart.
- Honest numbersReports location accuracy plainly and hides yardages when you're away from the course.
- No account, advertising or trackingScores and rounds stay on your phone and watch.

Off Course, a game while you wait.
A 3D golf game of Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan, New York. All 18 holes are built from the real course's shapes, aerial imagery and laser elevation surveys. It comes free with the app, needs no extra download and plays offline.

Built for one course. Ready for yours.
We make native apps for iPhone, Apple Watch, Android and Wear OS. Below is what Crane Course already does, and what the same work could do for you. Picture your winery, trail, shop or event in place of the golf course.
Location
In Crane Course today: Yardages to the green from the phone's own location, even with no signal.
In your app: Directions to the next stop on a wine tour, even where the signal drops.
Phone and watch
In Crane Course today: The round on your wrist, kept in step with the phone in the cart.
In your app: A checklist, timer or tally on the wrist while your hands are busy.
Maps
In Crane Course today: Aerial maps of every hole, downloaded once and ready offline.
In your app: Your farm, campus or event grounds, mapped and in every visitor's pocket.
Live information
In Crane Course today: Wind from Apple Weather, turned to match the hole you're playing.
In your app: Weather, schedules or your own numbers, shown at the moment they matter.
3D worlds
In Crane Course today: Off Course, a game built from real elevation and aerial imagery.
In your app: A walk through a place before anyone sets foot there, built from the same real data.
Data and privacy
In Crane Course today: No account or advertising, scores kept on the device, and privacy answers filed with both stores.
In your app: Data handled the way your app needs, and disclosed plainly in both stores.
Both stores
In Crane Course today: Live on the App Store, with Google Play in testing.
In your app: Your app on iPhone and Android, with listings, privacy answers and review handled.
So, what would yours do?
Tell us about it →From the first idea to the App Store, and after.
A good app is more than code. It starts with the people who will use it and keeps going long after launch day, as phones, watches and operating systems change.
We take an app through every step and stay with it afterwards. Choose a step to see what happens there.
Idea
Start with the problem the app should solve and the people who will use it, and agree on what the first version must do well.
We build applications that meet your needs.

- i
Plain and readable
Large type, clear words and screens that make sense the first time.
- ii
Native to every device
Apple's tools on Apple devices and Google's on Android, never a compromise that feels foreign on both.
- iii
Honest about data
Your app collects what it needs, and says so plainly in both stores.
- iv
Looked after
Tested on real devices, updated as platforms change, and fixed when users tell us something is wrong.
Have an idea for an app?
We make our own apps, and we're glad to hear about yours. You always know what's being built and what comes next.
Talk
A relaxed conversation about the app, the people it's for and what it should do.
Plan
A short written plan with the screens, the devices and the first version.
Build
Working builds early and often, on your own phone, so you can steer.
Launch
Store listings, review and release, then care for the app afterwards.
Let's make something useful.
